Two centuries later, especially in 1930, the war against marijuana began. The beginning of the United States through several films such as Reefer Madness in 1936. One year later there was the first arrest in history for selling cannabis. 1942, marijuana was excluded from the American pharmacopoeia. Since then, the medical use of marijuana has receded into the background in some parts of America. It was the beginning of the illegalisation of marijuana in many countries. In 1964 Doctor Raphael Machoulam identified that plants contained the compound THC, the main psychoactive component of cannabis.
